Healing Hearts Program

Our Healing Hearts Program was established to help special needs animals get the treatment and care they need to live a happy healthy life.

At Hill Country SPCA, we believe in providing a second chance at a fulfilling life for every animal, including those with special needs. Our Healing Hearts program is dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of these incredible creatures. By donating to our Healing Hearts program, you can make a meaningful impact on the lives of special needs animals, helping us provide them with the essential medical treatments, therapies, and specialized equipment they require. Your generosity will enable us to provide a safe and nurturing environment, where these animals can heal, thrive, and eventually find their forever homes. Together, let's give these precious souls the love and care they truly deserve.

Funds received in excess of a specific animal’s expenses will go to help other animals in our Healing Hearts program

Introducing the newest face of our Healing Hearts Program…

Sky

We are thrilled to introduce you to Sky, a remarkable dog who has overcome adversity and become an inspiration to all at Hill Country SPCA. Sky, a lovable and resilient pup, was recently adopted by our compassionate Executive Director. Unfortunately, Sky had to undergo an amputation due to a severe injury. However, rather than letting this setback define him, Sky has become the embodiment of our Healing Hearts program. With a wagging tail and a resilient spirit, Sky will now serve as the new face of our program, showcasing that animals, just like humans, have incredible capacity for healing and love. Sky's story will not only offer hope to those who have faced similar obstacles, but also allow us to educate people on the importance of the Healing Hearts program and the transformative impact it can have on animals in need.

Meet out Healing Hearts Ambasa-dog…

Olaf

Olaf came to us as a newborn with his siblings and mom, this sweet family went into foster and unfortunately came into contact with Parvo virus. They were immediately hospitalized, but sadly only Olaf and one sibling survived. Olaf however developed sepsis while undergoing treatment for parvovirus, his tail fell off and the fight to save his rear legs started. Unfortunately over the next few months he would loose his left leg, and the toes on his right foot. This has created some unique mobility challenges for him, however thanks to a prosthetic and follow-up surgeries he is doing leaps and bounds better. Olaf was adopted by a foster mom, who is also our Asst. Shelter Manager, and attends offsite events and youth education demonstrations to show how capable special animals can be.
