Faith has been adopted! Watch her video on YouTube.
Sometimes the hardest cases of all are those that don’t have dramatic
stories behind them.
One year ago, three little puppies came into our
shelter from San Antonio Animal Control where they were out of time. These
little puppies were all very different, one was very outgoing and super
friendly, we named her Joy, the other was a little shy but willing to trust,
we named him Honor (which later became Tap-Tap), the third however; she
was different. She
was painfully shy but, if you were quiet and sat very still, she would
sneak around for a visit. We named her Faith.

Faith has been at our shelter for a year. When people come to visit
they see her sitting in the back of her kennel shivering in fright, and
they keep moving. No one gives Faith a chance. The Faith you don’t
see is the Faith I have fallen in love with. Faith has a wonderful disposition,
she is a very happy dog who LOVES “her people” and other dogs,
she loves to be talked to, she loves to be petted and she loves to give
kisses. But
she is very guarded and no one else ever sees the other side of Faith,
they don’t even give her a chance.
It is heartbreaking to see
her as a shaking ball of nerves when visitors walk past; you don’t see
the dancing, tail chasing, so-excited-she-can-barely-contain-herself FAITH
who greets me when I walk past alone. She is the light in my day; every
breakthrough with her makes all of the time WORTH WHILE! The first
time she wagged her tail when she saw me, the first time she approached
me on her own, and the first time she got EXCITED when I walked past her
kennel. Every
breakthrough was a milestone and I really got to see and learn who Faith
really was.

I have fallen in love with this beautiful little girl, but sadly my house
is full of furry creatures and it is far too active to be able to give Faith
the quiet loving home she deserves. She has the potential to be a fantastic
loving companion if you give her the chance. With time she would be
the most devoted companion with all of the love in the world to give, if you
give her time.
Faith is a hard case; she has been here for a year with no end in sight. It
costs $50 to care for and feed one dog in our shelter for one month;
Faith has been here for over TWELVE months. Her $95 adoption fee is never
going to cover the cost of her stay and she needs your help. She needs
a home more than anything, but if you don’t have the right home, please
donate what you can to her cause.
