Dog Training
The Hill Country SPCA is proud to offer basic obedience classes. We believe that one of the best ways to build a bond with your four legged companion is through mutual respect and understand. Here at the Hill Country SPCA we believe in training using positive reinforcement techniques.
You may recognize our pet trainer as our Assistant Shelter Manager, Tia Schenewerk. What you may not know is she has been working with animals for the past 8 years. She worked for PetSmart as a Pet Trainer for 2 years, completing their 120 hour training course plus an internship. She has successfully trained hundreds of dogs and their owners. From there she moved on to work for a Veterinary Clinic for over a year as both a Groomer and Veterinary Technician, and finally landed here at the Hill Country SPCA where she has been for the past 5 years. Her experience in the many different areas of Pet Care give her a unique outlook on how to best work with both you and your pet to build the best bonds possible, or solve any potential behavioral problems you may be struggling with. |
